2015 Biennial of the Americas Closing Press Conference with Mayor at Civic Center Park
WHAT:             The Biennial of the Americas, which officially kicked off on Tuesday, July 14 and continues through August 30, will hold a closing press conference at Civic Center Park on Friday, July 17th at 11:00 a.m. to discuss the remaining opening week events and what people can expect to see throughout the remainder of the Biennial.
·       Additional events on Friday, July 17 & Saturday, July 18 include:
o   July 17, Fútbol Friday at the Biennial Pavilion: Events and performances include: Conversation on Soccer as Development with the Colorado Rapids, One World Play, Inter American Development Bank, America SCORES, and Soccer for Success; guest lecture by Erick Meyenberg.  A pre-party for Biennial Night @ Civic Center will be hosted by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and its Turn Over the Keys program featuring Ian Cooke.
o   July 17, Fútbol Friday at Civic Center Park: Events include Soccer in the Park with balls donated by One World Play, Futsal Demonstration and Clinic by Soccer for Success, Youth Skills Course hosted by the Colorado Rapids and Drop-in Soccer for Adults.
o   July 17, Biennial Night @ Civic Center Park Featuring Bomba Estéreo: The Biennial of the Americas partners with Levitt Pavilion Denver and Newman Center Presents to provide free performances in Civic Center Park during Biennial Night @ Civic Center. The evening kicks off at 5:00 p.m.with food trucks and fun activities for all ages. Performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and include appearances by Companhia Urbana de Dança (Brazil), modern artist and emcee Jeremy Bailey (Canada), and Wonderbound (U.S.).  The incredible genre-busting music pioneers Black Violin (U.S.) will perform as part of the 2015 Levitt National Tour. In addition, Ian Cooke will perform his dynamic infusions of cello-centric rock and stimulating visuals that summon Mesozoic creatures from pre-historic times, called “Antiquarsauria” in collaboration with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. At 10:00 p.m. Latin Grammy Award Nominee Bomba Estéreo from Colombia will close out the evening with an electrifying performance. 
o   July 18, Performing Arts Day at the Biennial Pavilion: Redline Performing Arts NOW! And Playground Ensemble “New Music NOW!” which is a performance of eight chamber music ‘postcards’ thematically related to the Biennial, featuring young composers paired with professional composers.
