Ambitious Economic Proposition that Will Turn Many Heads for Denver and Environs

July 20, 2015

  • $8 million in 2016 Denver budget pipeline for affordable housing, and then…
“In the months ahead, we will refine a plan to generate at least $15 million every year to produce nearly 6,000 units of affordable housing.” ~ Michael B. Hancock
Excited to see this budget priority and do my small part to help realize its impact to Denver. I know many folks working hard in the city who can’t find a foothold to live here. Proud Denver will be putting significant skin in the game to turn that around.

i think this is interesting and my first thought is where? Where is the real estate unless we create a Dubai where we take places that have no structures and create another city. I read this morning that Beijing has created a city that is 6 times the size of New York. Maybe if we incorporate another region out from Denver International Airport or actually create the housing that was promised for Lowry redevelopment Authority. I MEAN where is the case management dollars for these affordable units and how will they be maintained, and by whom? Security is equally important to support having lived in a low-income site at the Cathedral the last two years. FOOD FOR THOUGHT – Well done if in a decade we have 60,000 units for all people and it is accessible and one can live, work and play and age in place. Well done indeed!
