“A Homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, a home which maybe never was; the nostalgia, the yearning , the grief for the lost places of your past”

“A Homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, a home which  feels as this refuge never was; the nostalgia, the yearning , the grief for the lost places of your past”

For too long I have felt the sting

the ache

the missing hole of all of my days within

the context of my homeland

all it has been

ever was

 loss of family

 grace of being safe

 swaddled in loving arms

 aching from smiling

looking into faces of my beloved

knowing that they are always to me my heart

feeling the exhalation of their breath on my cheeks

 gentle furtive kisses

 reaching around  hugging tightly round

 gentle refrain of inspiration

respiration as we listen to each other sound asleep

gentle tugs of our beloved as we wait

watching patiently for them to come home

to awaken

a home without them which is desolate

without stirring of their feet

 feeling of them rising

 coming across to  make room

to greet us

crawl into bed

 being present on mornings

evenings

in between by your side

we plunge into a place of silence

of grief

of unrequited love

transformed to emptiness

our spirits yearn for the distraction of any nod

 we carry on

seeing none

we heave

we take flight

we succumb to the fatigue of loss of spirit

of way

of hope

will there be a new day

a time to heal

a time of jubilee

a time of forgiveness

a time for all seasons

to dissipate

restore hiraeth

a homesickness for a home

to which you can never return

home which may never have been

 longing

yearning

aching

 grieving for lost refuges

 sanctuaries of the heart

may this season alight with your presence

a place for a home for the heart
