2016 passes on as hard as it has been and 2017 appears to be unheralded in mayhem and dysfunction Beware the 4 horsemen are at the doorstep knocking

December 27, 2016

January 29 is fixed but we are about to cross into unknown territory this year 66. Chronic heart disease bearable with careful plans for intake and outlook. Still, the world became more perverse, if possible in 2016. Beware the four horsemen are on the doorstep. We have nothing more than our neighbors and loved ones to embrace and hold close, caring for one another is our best hope.

“I Don’t Have Much Hope”

Deo Velenti, I will be 65 in another month on January 29. It has been a difficult struggle. I would not characterize this experience as resilience or even survival, just a horrific battle from start to whenever the bell tolls to call me home.

I was born in a time of great tumult world-wide. The atom bomb had been dropped twice a few years earlier. A war was raging in Korea that would continue without end unto this day.

Violence accented every era and day of my entire life time. The level of violence was not limited to armed conflicts, but full-scale desecration of the earth, the oceans, the atmosphere and the care of the fragile nature of all of our natural resources.

Escalating violence has led to more repression. We see fanatical ambitions of people across the globe and especially in our midst with reckless people who control wealth and thereby power.

More and more of our young are bombarded with devastating experiences as more and more people throughout the world are dispossessed as refugees, unwanted and unable to sustain themselves do to the every changing culture of violence and the rampaging environmental disasters.

What are we leaving as a legacy to our children and their children and for that matter to all sentient beings of this world? We must realize that people cannot sustain their lives without opportunities for safe havens, for places that provide sustenance and peace, both inside and outward on all sides.

Listen to Dr. Nadine Jacqueline Burke Harris for 16 minutes as she explains what is going on and you will realize that there are no other choices but to stop making messes and people’s lives continue in misery, especially young people everywhere.

Hope has to be based on reality not wishes and promises. I did as much as anyone to make this morass. I have as much at stake in terms of my spirit and resilience if I do not take my choices, behaviors and actions seriously. My best is not sufficient. I must make amends and build a legacy of providing safety and compassion for everyone who I touch, see, know, come across no matter what. We all have this responsibility.
