THIS DAY IN THIS WORLD THROUGHOUT THE HOLIDAY SEASON THROUGH EPIPHANY IN THE YEAR AHEAD IS COMPLICATED BY THE EXPERIENCES OF LOSS AND TRAGIC CONSEQUENCES OF OUR ACTIONS WE BOW OUR HEADS IN SUPPLICATION AND REVERENCE

“Today is a complex day in America.”

This day and all of the holiday season through Epiphany in the New Year Ahead represents a profound range of lived experiences: football entertains and increasingly engages us along political fault lines; family feasts are rarely absent of family dynamics; and our nation’s shameful legacy with indigenous communities rightfully overshadows the Hallmark version of events that is often told.

But on this day, I hope to share one thing with you: find true thanksgiving in the silence.

This comes from a practice of mine where I spend 20 minutes each day sitting in silence. By slowing down my mind and being still, I am able to find true peace.

And from that peace comes true thanksgiving. Giving thanks tills the soils of gratitude and leads me to the Creator.

When you push beyond the noise of the world to the stillness of your soul, it is there where you find a life worth living – where gratitude and love abound. Take time today to slow down and reflect. You just might be surprised what you find.

#HappyThanksgivingEveryone
Yo Tambien a friend of mine lost his nephew on the streets and I am marking this day in contemplative prayer and for all of those reasons I take time every day perpetually to live with grace in this blessing which we never know when will end!
